NBA star Jusuf Nukrić grew up during the Bosnian War. This experience inspired in him a sense of duty to his home country of Bosnia and the Bosnian international community. Affectionately known as the Bosnia Beast, Jusuf is dedicated to responding to the needs of his home country and doing his part to create a brighter future for the people of Bosnia.
In the last year, the Foundation has sent life-saving PPE kits to hospitals struggling with COVID-19, donated $40,000 to the largest hospital near Jusuf’s hometown to rebuild the roof, built homes for three single mothers and families, sent 5,000 food packages benefitting 12,000 people, and purchased a mammogram machine for a hospital in Bosnia. The foundation is also building a community basketball court in Portland.
