At the event, we introduced 41 of you to our new Executive Director, Joanne Pasternack, highlighted the power of the MOSES-13 Steps documentary, and celebrated our youth award essay winners. From there, we shifted towards our working groups, highlighting two of our focus areas: Access to Quality Sport and Play and Safe Communities. Attendees engaged in group conversations, analyzing the goals and objectives set forth in our playbook and how we could achieve that vision collectively.

This event is a day that we honor those that have been directly impacted by gun violence in various ways like the lost their lives or survivors. ​The 2025 Chicago Adaptive Open, presented by the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, is set to take place from June 21–22 at Fox Bend Golf Course in Oswego, Illinois. This event brings together top golfers with physical and intellectual disabilities, who will compete across 15 different sports classifications for a share of a $30,000 purse. Additionally, World Ranking for Golfers with Disability (WR4GD) points will be awarded. New for this year is a charity pro-am and practice round on June 20, offering participants a chance to engage in a shotgun start round followed by a cookout and reception.
