On the eve of the CHJS Launch week grand finale, we will be hosting a series of virtual events across the country to celebrate the launch of the center and announce the Agenda To Transform Youth Sports. In each city, a member of the CHJS team will host a virtual event where these subject matter experts will share more information on The Center and why we believe in the power of sport to heal. Throughout the day, we will bounce around to other cities via social media to raise awareness of the deep and wide reach of the center's networks.

On Monday, August 30th, Science of Sport is hosting their 1st Annual Science of Sport Golf Classic at Calabasas Country Club. Proceeds from this tournament will allow Science of Sport to dedicate funds towards programming for youth across Los Angeles. Their programs are designed to bring math and science to life through hands-on learning and sports examples by providing engaging STEM programs for teachers and students, in combination with giving access and exposure to careers in the STEM workforce. Supporting the next generation in the acceleration of positive climate action and ambition, to safeguard the future of global sport. Up to 200, next-gen leaders (aged 18 – 30) will have an opportunity to learn and discuss key themes in the sport and climate change space, including the role of climate justice in sport, how sport can help drive widespread positive environmental and societal change, and how corporate sports sponsorship aligns with sustainability efforts. Through these sessions, attendees will craft a youth perspective on topics that will be shared and integrated into the Summit outcomes. In the first gathering of its kind, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with peers from around the world to create a network who aspire to, or already are, driving a climate-positive vision for the future of sport. Diversity, equity, and inclusion is a crucial element of Sport Positive Next Gen Summit, and as such Ambassadors will be designated to represent their region of the world, and give input on how the Summit comes together. Of the 200 places available, there will be a set minimum number of registrations per region before general admission opens, to ensure a truly global perspective on these key issues. We welcome students, researchers, entry-level workers, activists, sports leaders, interns and volunteers, and social entrepreneurs. Those joining Sport Positive Next Gen Summit will be interested in acquiring knowledge, skills, and learning new tools and approaches to sport and sustainability, networking, and learning from peers and experts.

The Dallas Fort Worth Adaptive Sports Coalition is hosting its 5th annual Adaptive Sports Expo on Saturday, October 2, 2021, to showcase the variety of sports, recreational, fitness, and wellness activities available to individuals with impairments and disabilities in the region. This year's event is one event you don't want to miss as we have some exciting new events and giveaways for our 5th year anniversary, in a fully virtual environment! As part of our 1st annual Adaptive Sports Symposium, this year's event also will include some educational sessions related to adaptive and Parasports, recreation, fitness, and wellness. Together, we can cross the finish line towards more inclusive communities… one runner at a time! Whether you are a first-time marathoner or avid runner, #TeamSpecialOChicago is a group assembled of runners of all ages and abilities in support of the #inclusionrevolution. #TeamSpecialOChicago supports runners in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon through fundraising tips, training assistance, and a day of support! We are so grateful for your devoted support of our life-changing mission. Special Olympics Chicago serves athletes in all 50 city wards. It is free for the athletes to participate in Special Olympics Chicago programs. The funds raised by initiatives like #TeamSpecialOChicago benefit the 7,500+ athletes of Special Olympics Chicago, covering the costs for transportation, medals, equipment, uniforms, food, and lodging.

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in athletes (and others) with a history of repetitive brain trauma, including symptomatic concussions as well as asymptomatic subconcussive hits to the head. Brain degeneration is associated with memory loss, confusion, impaired judgment, impulse control problems, aggression, depression, and, eventually, progressive dementia. The annual CTE Conference is a two-day virtual course where participants will learn about all aspects of CTE, including its pathology, pathophysiology, genetics, biomarkers, imaging, clinical syndromes, clinical criteria, differential diagnosis, impact on veterans, implications for the family and, what it is like to live with or worry about the disease.
