FIGHT LIKE A GIRL

Fight Like a Girl (FLAG) is fiercely committed to developing young female leaders who are proficient not only in jabs and hooks but in social impact and cross-cultural collaboration. Our boxing and leadership development program follows a 10 week curriculum where girls learn to box, strengthen their self-confidence and leadership skills, and implement a social impact project in their community. The program (currently supported by a $25k grant from the U.S. State Department) runs at the same time in Chicago, IL and Somerset East, South Africa and offers opportunities for students to collaborate with peers from across the world. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds but the majority come from economically deprived neighborhoods with limited sports opportunities for girls.

We are requesting an additional $25k to transfer our curriculum to a digital course that can be downloaded offline by schools around the world. Funds will be used to film course workouts and discussions, develop an innovative, user friendly online platform, and manage program support. The course will launch in September of 2021 at 10 schools in 10 different countries. Each school will have 40 participants for a total of 400 students served in the first year.

We believe in the power of sport to build strong girls. We know that strong girls go on to build thriving communities and thriving communities build a better world. We would love to work with you on boxing for a better world.
