Sports Stars Making a Social Impact: How Former NHL Pro Brent Sopel Is Helping Students With Dyslexia
Brent Sopel, NHL Stanley Cup Winner and Dyslexia Advocate was spotlighted in a recent interview discussing his career and his work post-retirement. Brent’s life aspiration is to bring awareness of Dyslexia, help those who suffer from the disorder and to help make a positive change for those who need it most. Three years ago, he founded the Brent Sopel Foundation for Dyslexia to provide financial and educational assistance to help students with Dyslexia to fulfill their potential through early detection and intervention. He also provides mentoring and does speaking engagements as well. In addition, he recently released a documentary, Brent Sopel: Here to Change the World, to provide hope to other dyslexics.
