It was an honor to be invited to sit in with the Tampa Bay Super Bowl 2021 Host Committee on February 5, 2021 as the plans to unveil the six pillars of the Legacy Program were announced. The slogan, “Forward. Forever. Together.” was more than fitting.
Along with City Officials, the SBLV Host Committee Co-Chair, NFL Buccaneers Legend, #55 Derrick Brooks was on hand as well as NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell to thank the leadership team for their work in serving the Tampa Bay community by creating hope and possibility through sports.
The Legacy Grant of two million dollars is designed to help the host community. Tampa Bay chose six pillars:
- Early Learning
- Food Insecurity
- Families
- Health and Wellness
- Environmental Sustainability
- Systemic Justice
The journey for the Tampa Bay community has just begun…and the impact will last forever. Derrick Brooks summed up the Legacy Grant event best, “When all the dust settles, for me, I step back and look and see how our community wins…and we’re going to win through our community efforts. Over $2 Million is going to be staying here in this Bay area through our partnership with the NFL.”
