MISSION: The Warriors Community Foundation supports education and youth development to promote thriving students, schools and communities.
PROGRAMS:
$13 Million in Grants: The Warriors Community Foundation has supplied over $13 million dollars in grants to the community supporting educational equity in Alameda and San Francisco Counties.
Refurbished Courts: The Warriors have refurbished over 80 basketball courts creating safe and clean places for basketball and other activities in low income communities around the Bay Area.
Ticket Donations: Over 15,000 tickets for Warriors games have been donated, sharing the joy and excitement of Warriors home games with local schools, nonprofits, or others unable to attend games.
Generation Thrive: Youth thrive when they’re valued, heard, supported, trained, coached, connected, and whole. Generation Thrive believes: thriving educators and youth development specialists create powerful and supportive learning opportunities for young people. Generation Thrive advances educational attainment, wellness, and equity for Bay Area youth by providing capacity building and collaboration opportunities for youth-serving nonprofits and educators, and wellness programming for the youth they serve. They also support the effectiveness of Bay Area non-profits and schools through education and wellness, building strong teams within the community, and creating a better future for youth in the bay area.
Strength in Numbers: grants awarded & courts refurbished
Hoops 4 Kids: Through Hoops for Kids, Warriors achievements on the court benefit underserved youth around the Bay Area. Each Warriors 3-point basket this past season generated $500 for local organizations that work to improve opportunities and outcomes for kids. Presented by Salesforce, along with PG&E, the Koret Foundation and Taube Philanthropies, Hoops 4 Kids raised $225,000 from 550 three-pointers made.
AmazonSmile: The Warriors support organizations around the Bay Area that close gaps of opportunity and access for underserved students. AmazonSmile donates to charitable organizations at no extra cost to the shopper allowing people to help out their favorite foundations whenever a purchase is made.
