Mission

The Oakland Athletics work to make the Oakland and East Bay communities more equitable and inclusive through education, youth, and volunteer programs.

Programs

Vaccinate at the Plate- COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic from June till the end of the season at all home games. The Pfizer and Johnson and Johnson vaccines were given with two home game tickets given in return.

Home Run Readers Program- The Athletics and Ross Stores provide an incentive program for students of all ages to promote reading at home and in the classroom.

Summer Slugger- A baseball themed online math and literacy program offered over the summer for kids 8-12 to prevent the “summer slide” in which students can earn rewards like A’s tickets.

Field Refurbishments- In partnership with Gilead Sciences and Scotts Company LLC, the Athletics offers grants to refurbish fields so kids can play safely and have fun.

Future A’s- Youth teams receive support from the Athletics and Kaiser Permanente such as virtual clinics and meet and greets to encourage growth and progress.

A’s PLAY BALL- In partnership with Bank of America, the Athletics travel to neighborhoods and offer baseball activities for all to enjoy.
