Join us on Radio Row as Sports Philanthropy Network President Roy Kessel and Vice President Kayla Bradham sit down with Amobi Okugo, Founder A Frugal Athlete, to discuss financial literacy and the work that Amobi’s doing to help athletes to be financially literate.

Amobi Okugo is a professional soccer player and the founder of the financial-literacy company A Frugal Athlete.

He was drafted after his freshman year at UCLA into Major League Soccer as part of the 2010 Generation Adidas Class. He has amassed over 200 appearances in all competitions professionally and has been honored to represent the United States national team program at various youth levels including the 2012 Olympic squad. 

Amobi Okugo was born in Hayward, California, to Nigerian immigrants and is the oldest of four siblings. He holds a Masters in Sports Law in addition to a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership and Development with a minor in Business Administration.

Other interests besides sports include business, entrepreneurship, and marketing.
