Daryl is a panelist on Panel 2: Creating Better Programs

Daryl Evans currently leads Strategic Sports Alliances for the American Cancer Society (ACS). He is responsible for leveraging the American sports landscape to raise funds and importantly—developing innovative new fund-raising platforms within the sports landscape—for the fight against cancer. ACS currently partners with the NFL, NHL, Coaches vs. Cancer, golf, MiLB and is expanding.  He brings more than 30 years of experience spanning branding, sponsorship, mobile technology, advertising, media, digital content creation, and sports marketing across the wireless, beverage, insurance and other industries.

Prior to joining ACS, Evans was Senior Vice President, Mobile, Media and Advertising Strategy for MediaLink—an advisory firm focused on advertising, media, entertainment and ad technology sectors.

Prior to MediaLink, Evans led AT&T’s consumer advertising as well as marketing communications and merchandising for AT&T Wireless, Uverse TV, AT&T Digital Life. Evans joined AT&T in 2001, the founding year of Cingular Wireless, and drove the creation of the Cingular brand and then re-branded to AT&T. He led AT&T consumer brand creative, media, sponsorships and retail merchandising nationwide, and was a key player as the wireless industry grew to 100%+ wireless penetration in the US.

He also served McCann-Erickson Worldwide as SVP, director of client services managing clients such as Coca-Cola, Motorola, Georgia-Pacific and AFLAC.

He and his teammates have won numerous awards including four Cannes Lions, seven Effies and others.

Evans serves on the Board of Directors of the American Advertising Federation (Exec. Committee), The College Football Hall of Fame, the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau (former chairman), the Executive Advisory Board of the American Marketing Association (Atlanta), FoodFinders, the marketing committee for Public Broadcasting Atlanta and the AdPR Executive Council for the Grady School of Journalism and advisory board of NSMN. He is a former member of the Board of Visitors of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Ad Council, The Chick-fil-A Bowl (former chairman) and the Alliance Theatre.

In the for-profit sector Evans serves on the advisory boards of Adtoniq (publisher assistance with ad blocking technology) and Skignz (mobile augmented reality).

Evans holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina and a Master’s Degree in business from the Harvard Business School.
