This week’s Newsstand highlights inspiring acts of generosity and community support across the globe.

Across the globe, acts of generosity continue to inspire communities, as seen through initiatives like the “Sports for All” program in Austin, TX, which raised $150,000 to provide free youth sports opportunities for low-income families. Additionally, the LA Dodgers Foundation’s “Healthy Homers” program raised $1 million to support mental health initiatives for underserved youth in Los Angeles, showing how sports organizations are stepping up to tackle social issues.

On a local level, the Detroit Lions’ charity gala raised $250,000 for food banks and homelessness programs, directly benefiting Michigan communities. Similarly, the Houston Astros Foundation donated $250,000 to support youth sports leagues in Houston, impacting over 2,000 young athletes, highlighting the power of sports in uplifting communities and creating lasting positive change.
