San Diego Padres Spotlight

San Diego Padres Foundation

The San Diego Padres strive to make an impact on and off the field to build community pride through positive connections with fans, players and staff. Their foundation is committed to making an impact in the community through outreach initiatives in the areas of children’s health, education and fitness. They aim to provide financial and volunteer support to build awareness and inspire participation in serving the greater San Diego and Baja regions.

Padres Foundation Garage Sale– The Garage Sale is a fixture featuring game-worn jerseys, helmets, memorabilia, and many other collectables at the annual Padres FanFest to raise money for the foundation.

Padres Foundation Online Auction- The San Diego Padres Foundation posts different valuable items and special experiences on its auction website weekly, all net proceeds from which benefit the foundation programs.
Padres Charity Ticket Program  The San Diego Padres Foundation gifts tickets to nonprofit organizations that serve disadvantaged children who are not able to attend a game. The foundation works with MLB’s “Commissioner’s Community Initiative” and “Players Give Back” to give complimentary tickets to nonprofit organizations. Besides, it also teams up with Tickets For Kids to distribute free tickets.

Military Appreciation San Diego is a crucial port the U.S. Navy and a center for training of new recruits. The San Diego Padres were recognized as “The Team of the Military” after being the first professional team to establish a Military Affairs department in 1995. In 2009, the Padres teamed up with USAA to organize numerous programs to recognize armed forces and their families. The team offers exclusive tickets discount for the military and their families and organizes Military Appreciation Sunday games throughout the season with special camo uniforms.

First Responder Appreciation The San Diego Padres not only give thousands of complimentary tickets to First Responder communities annually, but designate eight home games with a $10,000 donation each one as First Responder appreciation Fridays every season to raise attention to them.
