ANGELA LACHICA TO GIVE KEYNOTE PRESENTATION AT 2019 SPORTS PHILANTHROPY WORLD CONGRESS

The Sports Philanthropy Network is excited to announce that Angela LaChica will give the keynote lunch presentation at the Sports Philanthropy World Congress in Chicago, Illinois on August 9, 2019.  Entitled “Connecting and Engaging with Professional Athletes: Spotlight on Social Justice,” LaChica’s presentation will highlight her work over the years with LaChica Sports & Entertainment Group, in addition to her current role with the Players Coalition and their fight for social justice.  LaChica will also draw on her extensive experience in sports marketing and media as well as her community efforts on behalf of many high-profile athletes including LeBron James.

The Sports Philanthropy World Congress was launched to bring together the best minds in sports philanthropy, allowing participants to share their knowledge, ideas, vision and passion.  Consisting of five high level panels, this one-day event will host discussions on the challenges faced by sports non-profits and will provide the resources and strategies to help them improve their impact in the community.

“We are so excited to have Angela presenting at the Sports Philanthropy World Congress,” said Roy Kessel, founder of the Sports Philanthropy Network.  “Angela has a strong record of providing high-level guidance and strategy to sports organizations as well as professional athletes. That experience gives her the ideal perspective to help our attendees and organizations understand how they can leverage relationships with professional athletes to make a greater impact in their communities. Her current roles with LaChica Sports and the Players Coalition are critical to an overall improvement in our society.  Having personally met with Anquan Boldin as well as with Malcolm Jenkins’ parents, I understand the passion for social justice which is embedded in the Players Coalition’s philosophy.  I commend their fight against injustice, and we support the work they are doing to overcome the challenges facing so many communities around the country.”

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be the keynote speaker for this incredibly impactful conference,” said LaChica.  “I have spent most of my career working with professional athletes and sports organizations and love both learning from others as well as sharing my experiences and best practices with an audience that will use the power of sports to create real change in their communities. I know that the Sports Philanthropy World Congress has a tremendous lineup of speakers and I am honored to share the stage with so many of these dedicated professionals.  Beyond my prior work with professional athletes, my current experience allows me to leverage the profile of our athletes to help fight for social justice and the reforms that are needed.”

“Angela’s energy and passion really impressed me from the first time that we spoke,” said Kessel.  “Having worked in the sports industry for over 20 years, I have seen the power that sports have to make a positive impact in the community. Sports philanthropy drives social change, impacts underserved communities, breaks down barriers and fights for social justice. We believe that by bringing together the leaders in the sports philanthropy industry, we will facilitate greater communication, collaboration and interaction among the leadership and staff of these amazing organizations.   There are so many outstanding organizations who are already doing terrific work.  We want to be able to connect them with the resources they need to grow and thrive.”

The Sports Philanthropy World Congress will consist of five panels and presentations on a variety of sports philanthropy topics including: fundraising, board development, donor engagement, strategy and vision, program creation, impact measurement.  The full agenda and list of speakers is provided below.

“We have had a fantastic response to this inaugural Sports Philanthropy World Congress,” said Roy Kessel, Founder of the Sports Philanthropy Network. “We have received inquiries from virtually every state in the United States as well as over 60 countries around the world. We know that having Angela’s energy and enthusiasm will ensure that the keynote presentation helps us grow this network of sports philanthropy organizations and leaders.”
