Mission: The Milwaukee Bucks mission is to advance the Wisconsin community through socially responsible programs, initiatives and collaborations with community partners. Focusing on Youth Education, Youth Health and Wellness, Community Betterment and Mentoring, the Bucks are committed to “Owning the Future” and being a key leader in positive changes around Wisconsin.

Programs

Milwaukee Books – The Milwaukee Bucks work with Our Next Generation (ONG), a Milwaukee non-profit to create the Milwaukee Books Reading Program. It aims to build the reading abilities of ONG middle school and elementary school children. The Bucks encourage students to read throughout the season and celebrate the achievements of students who go the extra mile.

Bucks Tutor – The Milwaukee Bucks supports Our Next Generation’s (ONG) Outbound Learning Program. This program provides academic tutoring and enrichment programming to one of the most underserved communities in Milwaukee. The program has resulted in an increased number of high school students graduating, better grades and self-esteem, and students having positive attitudes towards their future. The Bucks host students in their office every Tuesday to be mentored by employee volunteers, and it allows employees to learn more about ONG as well as students to gain insight on future career paths and tutoring.

Youth Basketball – The Milwaukee Bucks collaborate with the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network to provide access to basketball to children across the state. They host various basketball camps throughout the year, and they teach children of every age and skill levels basketball fundamentals.

Block Out Hunger – The Milwaukee Bucks and Wisconsin-based Cousin Subs have collected 14,437 pounds of food and raised a total of $76,0655 for emergency food supplies for pantries across the state. For the month of March, the Bucks and Cousins will donate a meal to youth at the Boys and Girls Club locations throughout the state when you sign up for the Cousins Club Loyalty Program.

Community Care-A-Van – The Milwaukee Bucks partner with the Froedtert & Medical College of Wisconsin health network to increase access to healthcare to Milwaukee residents who need it the most. This program began in 2019, and transports nurses to community locations to provide residents with health screenings, PPE kits, education, and other resources.

Gruber Season of Giving – Milwaukee Bucks players, alumni, and staff participate in giving back to the community and spreading joy to youth and families throughout the state during the holidays. Their Season of Giving is presented by Gruber Law Offices, and includes Thanksgiving food distributions, community shopping events, hospital events, and employee gift drives.

Bucks VolunDeers – The Bucks Volundeers is an engagement initiative that encourages Bucks front office employees to incorporate community service into their regular work. Throughout every season, each full-time Bucks employee receives 16 hours compensation service time to support a community with a mission of their interest.
