May 2021 Newsletter

As the COVID fog seems to be lifting, everyone is excited to get back to normal activities. The sports world is reopening to limited fan capacity and youth sports are starting to return.

We just returned from the NFL Draft where we had a front row seat to the festivities. The City of Cleveland did an amazing job hosting the festivities, especially in the challenging weather conditions. The Cleveland Sports Commission did a terrific job putting on the three-day Power of Sports Summit which addressed many important issues including social justice, racism, LGBTQA+, Women, Mental Health, Digital Divide, Adaptive Sports and much more. I encourage you to take a look at some of the outstanding sessions and panels that they put together.

The Sports Philanthropy Network had an exciting start to the spring as we were recognized for a Global Excellence Award.  We were also pleased to present as part of the Education Through Sport Summit in Casablanca, Morocco.  Kayla and I would have loved to travel to be there in person, but we will plan that trip for 2022.

Our 1st Cohort of the Executive Director Mastermind finished strong and we are excited to launch the 2nd Cohort with our partner DRG, starting May 25th.  You can find the registration information and testimonials from our 1st Cohort here.

In May we will be kicking off our first group of Task Forces. We encourage you to join in and sign up to be part of a Task Force that will help shape an area about which you are passionate!  We know that working together we can change the world!

In the meantime, we would love you update your email preferences and tell us exactly which communications you would like to receive directly to your inbox.

We are easy to find on social media and we share a lot of interesting content. Please follow us on Linked In, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!

Thank you for being part of our community!
From the whole Sports Philanthropy Network team, we wish you a great month!
