Legacy After The Locker Room Podcast: S4:EP3–Kortney Olson, American-Australian Bodybuilder

Join us for S4:EP3 of the Legacy After the Locker Room Podcast as Kortney Olson, American-Australian Bodybuilder and Founder of GRRRL Clothing, sits down with our host Kayla Bradham to share her story.

Kortney Olson is an Australian Women’s arm wrestling champion, Queensland state Brazilian Jiu-jitsu champion, three-time international bodybuilding competitor, author, TV personality, certified personal trainer, and Olympic lifting and CrossFit coach. Kortney is also the “Woman with the World’s Deadliest Thighs” as crowned by Stan Lee, creator of Marvel Comics; a title she holds with pride. Kortney Olson knows what it’s like to drag yourself up from the bottom and thrive despite the odds. After surviving rape, an eating disorder, depression, and drug and alcohol addiction all before she was twenty one years old, Kortney understands how important it is to turn trauma, pain, and despair into power, strength, and confidence.

GRRRL is a brand new type of clothing company. They make real clothes for real grrrls who simply don’t care about what anybody else thinks. They celebrate everything female. For every woman. Recognizing that all real grrrls come in all kinds of different shapes and packages. At their heart, GRRRL exist to bring all grrrls together to claim not just equality but their rightful sisterhood.

GRRRL vision is to bring together an army of women to fight for each other, like family, to collectively create a world where women are free and liberated to be their best versions of themselves. Regardless of ethnicity, body type, beliefs, religion or abilities.

Their mission is to provide women opportunities to be connected and provide a platform for each and every one of them to use their personal experience as a means to empower other women and liberate future generations. They will do this in a number of ways:

GRRRLARMY – an online community where women across the globe can network with others in their sport or passion, and build local groups/relationships where they organize and gather regularly to share their experiences, teach each other new skills, find ways to reach their potential, and feel unconditional love and connection. In this community women can share their story and find others who have been or are going through similar situations, knowing that they are not alone, and to share powerful tools and information with each other to find support and recovery.

GRRRL Live – an annual event where women come together globally to learn tools to empower the lives of themselves, their communities and their families. A springboard to elicit radical change.

GRRRL Partners – partnering with strategic charities to help bring change for women through specific communities.

GRRRL Factories– Strategic planning to open factories in developing world countries to employ and empower women of all backgrounds with good paying wages, and giving them pathways out of unpalatable alternatives.

GRRRL Media – Employing honest advertising that represents all body types in fashion without the use of photoshop or airbrushing, and with no bias to ethnicity, background, belief or ability.
