My name is Tavon Mason a former NFL Wide Receiver for the NY Jets. I was born on April 16, 1980 in Baltimore, MD. I graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1998 and accepted a full athletic scholarship to attend The University of Virginia. In 2011, after retiring from two seasons in the NFL and one season with the Baltimore Mariners in the indoor football league, I started coaching high school football at Woodlawn High School and started my own foundation the Tavon Mason Loves the Kids Foundation ( Along with my foundation team we host various events in the community including my annual slipper drive for several children’s hospitals, a winter coat and toiletries drive for the west side men’s shelter in Catonsville, MD., a healthy snack drive for Camp St. Vincent’s De Paul in Baltimore City that caters to the homeless children and children who lives in transitional housing and finally my annual summer reading tour to name a few.

I coached four seasons at Stevenson University as their Defensive Backs Coach for three seasons and one season as their tight ends coach winning a conference championship in 2016. I work for the Baltimore County Public School System, the Founder of the G-Squad mentoring group at Franklin Middle School, philanthropist and motivational speaker and I am the Vice President of the NFLPA Baltimore Chapter. I became a published author in 2013 with my self-published ebook “Tavon Mason’s, The 60-A-Day Promise: A Guide to Healthier Lifestyle & Family. In 2015 I decided to step outside of the box and became a published children’s book author and released my first children’s book titled (TAVON DOES IT ALL).
