Join us for S2:EP20 of the Legacy After the Locker Room Podcast as Tavon Mason, former NFL athlete sits down with our host Kayla Bradham to discuss his NFL story, give advice to the youth, and their parents, and read his children’s book, Tavon Does It All.

Tavon Mason is a former NFL Wide Receiver for the NY Jets. He was born on April 16, 1980, in Baltimore, MD. He graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1998 and accepted a full athletic scholarship to attend The University of Virginia. In 2011, after retiring from two seasons in the NFL and one season with the Baltimore Mariners in the indoor football league, Tavon started coaching high school football at Woodlawn High School and started his own foundation, The Tavon Mason Loves the Kids Foundation –www.tavonmasonlovesthekids.org. Along with his foundation team, they host various events in the community including his annual slipper drive for several children’s hospitals, a winter coat and toiletries drive for the west side men’s shelter in Catonsville, MD., a healthy snack drive for Camp St. Vincent’s De Paul in Baltimore City that caters to the homeless children and children who lives in transitional housing and finally his annual summer reading tour to name a few.

Tavon coached four seasons at Stevenson University as their Defensive Backs Coach for three seasons and one season as their tight ends coach winning a conference championship in 2016. He works for the Baltimore County Public School System, the Founder of the G-Squad mentoring group at Franklin Middle School, philanthropist and motivational speaker and is the Vice President of the NFLPA Baltimore Chapter. He became a published author in 2013 with his self-published ebook, “Tavon Mason’s, The 60-A-Day Promise: A Guide to Healthier Lifestyle & Family”. In 2015 he decided to step outside of the box and became a published children’s book author and released his first children’s book, “Tavon Does It All”.
