LA Galaxy Spotlight

The LA Galaxy Foundation is committed to consistent support of the local Los Angeles community. Through programs championing inclusion and equality for all athletes, the foundation provides education and opportunities, fueled by a strong spirit of volunteerism and pride. They target their support of vital resources to the at-risk communities of Los Angeles, with the holistic drive of growing the global game.

HERO OF THE GAME: Prior to regular season home matches, the Hero of the Game program honors individuals who may be essential or healthcare workers, emergency service individuals or military personnel, as well as their families. This program expresses the foundation and wider organization’s gratitude for these individuals and highlight their sacrifices and services to their country.

RISING STARS: The LA Galaxy Foundation’s Rising Stars Program seeks to provide all communities of Los Angeles the opportunity to watch a first team match at Dignity Health Sports Park. While hoping to grow the game, this program distributes tickets purchased by LA Galaxy Season Ticket Members, corporate sponsors and civic-minded businesses or individuals, distributing them to under-resourced communities and children in the Southern California Area.

PROTECT THE PITCH: This program encompasses the foundation’s sustainability efforts, centered around their stadium and clean energy efforts. Furthermore, the foundation has installed Volta electric vehicle charging stations for guest use, free of charge. The Foundation and Dignity Health Sports Park have become more sustainable through their ‘Protect the Pitch’ initiative. Resources are far-reaching, including a greenhouse and garden at the home stadium producing vegetables for on-site staff and players, motion sensors throughout facilities to save energy and the use of recycled water to irrigate fields.

The LA Galaxy Foundation facilitates over 150 annual events and with aid from donors and their main supporter ‘Herbalife Nutrition’, have donated over $5 million dollars to the local Los Angeles community. The foundation also hosts an annual auction with various items of sports memorabilia that can be bid for online, to generate funding.

The foundation accepts donations, all recognized with a charitable receipt. These can be donated via mail or through their website here.
