Kansas City Royals Spotlight

MISSION:

The Kansas City Royals strive to support children, education, youth baseball, and softball field renovations, and military families around the Kansas City area. They accomplish this mission through financial grants that go towards life-changing projects and programs. Since its start, Royals Charities has donated over $18 million back to their communities. 

In 2020, Royals Charities implemented the Royals Respond Fund. This helps to address food insecurity and other urgent needs caused by COVID-19.

ROYALS CHARITIES PILLARS

 Children:

Royals Charities focuses on the needs of children in the Greater Kansas City Area. They emphasize on the inclusion of children with special needs and emergency services.

 

Education:

Royals Charities funds a variety of scholarships and educational programming. Scholars receive funds to support their college education in colleges in Kansas or Missouri.

Youth Baseball/Softball:

Royals Charities supports the efforts of local baseball and softball organizations. They also created the Royalty Field Grant Program to empower nonprofits to renovate baseball and softball fields.

Military:

Royals Charites dedicates their fundraising efforts from Diamond of Dreams presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Provides “home away from home” housing for military families across Kansas.

PROGRAMS

Game-day Greetings- Fans can purchase a greeting to be displayed for them at a home game of their choosing. The cost of this signage is $55 and the net proceeds benefits Royals Charities. 

50/50 Raffle- Fans can purchase a raffle ticket at each game. The winner of the raffle wins some of the proceeds and the rest is donated to charities. Funds from each raffle supports education, youth baseball and softball, children, and military across Kansas City. In 2020 alone, Royals Charities raised over $85,000 in donations for the 50/50 raffle.

Royals Respond Fund- 

Made to support Kansas City nonprofits who care for those who were affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Diamond of Dreams- Presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, Diamond of Dreams helped to open the opening of the Kansas City Fisher house by doing a silent auction.

Royals Legacy Brick Program- Fans are able to purchase a brick at Kauffman Stadium as a donation to Royals Charities.
