Boston Red Sox Spotlight

Red Sox Foundation

Since its founding in 2002, the Red Sox’s official team charity, The Red Sox Foundation, has worked hard to serve various needs of communities throughout the New England area. Their motto is: “To make a difference in the lives of children, families, veterans, and our communities in need by improving their health, education, and recreational opportunities.”

Programs

RED SOX SCHOLARS: Presented by Beth Israel Deaconess, Red Sox Scholars is a college success program that awards 12 Boston Public School 7th graders a college scholarship for $10,000.

YOUTH BASEBALL & SOFTBALL: The Red Sox Foundation also works with various youth baseball and softball programs such as Positive Coaching Alliance, and Jordans Furniture Double Play to provide opportunities for youth in the community to thrive in a baseball or softball program.

SOCIAL JUSTICE, EQUITY & INCLUSION: With employee conversations and feedback from Trinity Boston Connects, the Red Sox have formed 10 subcomittees made up from over 100 employee volunteers to work on social justice and inclusion efforts such as expanding opportunities to work with minority businesses, public advocacy, expanding efforts in more diverse communities and more.
