August 2025 Newsletter

It is hard to believe that summer is already winding down here in the Midwest. As we come down from the immense high of Sports Philanthropy World, we are excited about the collaborations and partnerships that have emerged from SPW2025. Organizations are locking in details for the remainder of 2025 and well into planning their 2026 calendar year. We know that once Labor Day hits, the business world moves at a different speed.

We hope that you will join us at some of the upcoming events and conferences, and we will have more announcements about SPW2026, SPNShop and the SPN Golf Tour in next month’s Newsletter.

Please let us know if  you will be attending any sports philanthropy or sports business conferences in the upcoming months. We typically have one or more SPN representatives at those events and we would love to connect in person.

We appreciate the support  from our SPN Community. If you would like to make a donation to support our efforts, we have some special incentives this month.

Thank you for being part of the SPN Family.

Please remember to LIVE GENEROUSLY!

At SPW 2025, SBRnet and SPN debuted GIVE-DEX: Sports Fan Giving Index. It is the first measurement of sports fan giving trends. It’s a key performance indicator (KPI) that tracks and benchmarks how sports fans donate across various sports and demographics. Powered by data from SBRnet’s Annual Study of Sports Fandom, GIVE-DEX highlights the charitable giving behaviors of sports fans across leagues and teams, emphasizing how fan passion fuels meaningful social impact. “The data shows beyond a shadow of a doubt that a fan who gives to sports-based charities is a more engaged fan which leads to additional money spent on licensed merchandise and ticket sales as well as higher social media engagement,” said Neil Schwartz, Founder of SBRnet.

August 23 – September 1:
SPN’s August Auction is raising money to provide Mental Health workshops for schools and youth sports organizations. The number one request for assistance in today’s competitive world, is help educating athletes, coaches and parents how to handle the mental health stresses that are occurring both within and outside of the sports community. SPN is partnering with Simple Mental Health to provide these resources and roll-out wider distribution of the workshops.

If you have items that you would like to donate to our monthly SPN auction, please reach out to Rylie Klein: Rylie.Klein@sportsphilanthropynetwork.org
